My hope is that when you leave a session with me, you will feel heard, cared for, listened to, and feel that I was present for you.
I invite you to read my Testimonials page for some sense of how folks have experienced and articulated their journey with me. (These haven't been updated in a few years).
I also hope that we can share some laughs along the way, because one thing I have learned is that laughter is good medicine and healing work doesn't have to be so serious!
Read through my Sessions page to find out more about my modalities.
Work, Identities, Training...
I grew up in an Italian American family in the working class, old brass factory city of Waterbury, CT and have lived and studied in California, Miami, New Mexico, Senegal West Africa, and Hawaii. I have been living in southern Vermont, on unceded land belonging to the Abenaki tribe, since 2000. I began studying healing arts modalities with a focus on trauma resolution in 1997.
My certifications and degrees include:
Internal Family Systems Therapy, Center for Self Leadership, Natick, MA, 2018
Somatic Experiencing Practitioner certificate from the Somatic Experiencing Trauma Institute in Boulder, CO, 2013 (including being a teaching assistant for SETI trainings since 2013)
Herbal Medicine certificate, Gaia School of Healing and Earth Education, 2013, Westminster, Vermont.
Bachelor of Science in Personal Transformation and Energy Healing from the Barbara Brennan School of Healing in Miami, Florida,
Massage Therapist and related bodywork diploma from the New Mexico Academy of Healing Arts in Santa Fe, 1999
Reiki Master of the Usui Lineage of Healers, 1997
Certified Infant Massage Instructor from the International Association of Infant Massage, 2000
Biodynamic Craniosacral Therapy, New Mexico Academy of Healing Arts, Santa Fe, NM, 1999.
Work history:
Before going full-time private practice in 2004, my work as a Mental Health Counselor includes work with children to adults to elders in residential facilities such as The Life Healing Center of Santa Fe, NM, Opal Cliffs in Santa Cruz, CA, The Brattleboro Retreat in Bratleboro, VT, and The Community House in Brattleboro, VT. In my early life, I held a number of working class service jobs.
Professional Orgs:
I am on the Roster of Non-licensed Psychotherapists (regulated by the Office of Professional Regulation, VT Secretary of State) Credential # 097.0134216. I am a member of the Associated Psychotherapists of Vermont, The Somatic Experiencing Trauma Institute, the Brennan Healing Science Association, American Bodywork and Massage Professionals, and carry liability insurance.
Additionally, my history is rich with travel, music, and community organizing around social justice. Passionate about living closely with the land and nature, as well as being active in the struggle for racial justice and human rights, my life is focused on doing as little harm as possible (deep care toward myself, others, and the land) and acknowledging/leveraging both my advantages and my oppressed identities. I am committed to working for social justice as a queer/lesbian/gender non-conforming, white, working class/buffer class person living in a predominantly white, low income, rural community. I am a core organizer of Lost River Racial Justice, a local group organizing around racial justice in the southern VT region, the Board Chair of the local rural LGBTQ organization Out in the Open, and a founding member of the Somatic Experiencing Working Group for Racial Justice (nationally). I facilitate trainings for therapists and bodyworkers to learn more about how to create safer spaces for marginalized communities in our healing practices, I offer supervision and consultation for other therapists, and facilitate healing groups of all kinds. I am also a musician (drums and bass) and can be found swooning over the VT wilderness as much as possible :-)
